US Supreme Court overturns constitutional right to abortion!

The Roe vs Wade case began in 1970. Roe and McCorvey were expecting their third child in 1969 and wanted to have an abortion. However, where they lived in Texas, it was against the law to perform an abortion unless it was necessary to protect the mother’s life.

Henry Wade, a community attorney in her community, filed a lawsuit against her in a U.S. federal court, claiming that abortion in Texas was unconstitutional.

The U.S. Supreme Court has overturned Roe v. Wade, striking down the constitutional right to abortion established in the landmark ruling nearly 50 years ago.

On June 24, the high court ruled that pre-viability bans on elective abortions are constitutional, with Justice Samuel Alito writing the majority opinion joined by Justices Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett.

The Supreme Court ruled 7-2 on January 22, 1973, that Article XIV of the U.S. Constitution guarantees a pregnant woman the right to have an abortion in accordance with Article 14. However, the court ruled that the right to an abortion was not absolute and should be examined in light of the government’s interest in protecting women’s health and protecting unborn children. But nearly 50 years later, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned the statutory right to abortion, established by a landmark judgment in the Roe v Wade case.

Now, the latest ruling could trigger a new wave of laws that severely restrict or completely ban abortions in about half of the U.S. states. Thirteen states have passed so-called “inductive laws” that will restrict abortion following Supreme Court action.

It violates the constitutional right of women to abortion for nearly half a century. Previously, abortion was not considered a crime in the United States, and it gave women the freedom and control of their bodies. However, the Supreme Court has arbitrarily violated the constitutional rights of women by granting them that freedom.

With this ruling, American women’s rights groups and even political leaders in many parts of the world have issued statements protesting this. And now a wave of protests has begun across America.
