Sri Lanka Parliament is going to introduce the Finger Print Voting System for Parliamentarians.  After the installation of the digital system, counting of votes manually will not be required. The Parliamentarians will be able to vote using their finger prints.

Parliament-votingThe Parliament hopes to use the new system at the vote of this Budget.  The old digital voting system installed in Parliament, which was used once or twice, is outdated and a new voting system has been installed in Parliament.  Today, they started getting the finger prints of Parliamentarians.

The new electronic voting would make divisions more transparent, particularly with some form of digital display panel within the chamber that would be visible from the galleries and instantly display how members voted. The result of the voting will be displayed with the name of the MP who votes For and Against as well as the names of absentees and the MPs who abstained from voting in a screen.  This new electronic voting would also save time.
