Sri Lanka has named 15-man squad for the Champions Trophy in June and the team will be led by Angelo Mathews, who returns after a hamstring injury kept him out of ODI series against South Africa and Bangladesh.

The ICC Champions Trophy – 2017 is scheduled to be a One Day International (ODI) cricket tournament held in England and Wales between 1 and 18 June 2017.This will be the 8th edition of the tournament. The top eight teams in the ICC ODI Championship rankings as of 30 September 2015 are qualified for the tournament.

Lasith Malinga who suffered from injuries has also been named in Sri Lanka’s 15-man squad.  Batsman Chamara Kapugedera, and fast bowler Nuwan Pradeep has also been named in the squad.

Nuwan Kulasekara, Suranga Lakmal, Thisara Perera and Pradeep are the other seam options in the squad.

Upul Tharanga is one of three potential openers in the squad, with Niroshan Dickwella and Kusal Perera there as well.

The Sri Lanka squad includes Angelo Mathews (Captain), Upul Tharanga, Niroshan Dickwella, Kusal Perera, Kusal Mendis, Chamara Kapugedera, Asela Gunaratne, Dinesh Chandimal, Lasith Malinga, Suranga Lakmal, Nuwan Pradeep, Thisara perera, Lakshan Sandakan, and Seekuge Prasanna.
