Lanka Hospital authorities have categorically rejected claims circulating in social media websites that Maldivian patients diagnosed with swine flu are admitted to Lanka Hospitals and have died.

“Lanka Hospitals wishes to announce that only 12 Maldivian patients have been admitted currently at Lanka Hospitals, out of which 10 are surgical and 2 are medical patients; none with swine flu.”

Further, the Group Chief Executive Officer of Lanka Hospitals Dr. Prasad Medawatte has stressed that the rumors are malicious and defamatory aimed at tarnishing the positive image of the hospital.

He added that Lanka Hospitals continues to serve it’s patients without any disruption.
